Reviews A great piece of kit for the money. I have seen many professional standalone DVRs costing thousands that don't come close to this in performance or features. The 8 channel DVR has one VG8C- RT4 cards inside a desktop style PC built from good quality components - this is not a no-name import from China. Comes with a free keyboard and mouse. System is fully installed just plug in cameras, switch on and recording starts. Connecting the mouse keyboard and a monitor is only required when configuring the system and you can control many of the functions from a remote PC through ethernet or over the web. It's a great deal easier than fiddling with all those buttons on a standalone DVR. Have not tried out all the facilities on this DVR yet but so far there have been no problems. Recordings are superb quality and makes the best of good cameras. What really sets this DVR apart from anything else I have seen is the fact that it can record all channels at 25fps at the same time, all at full resolution. The H.264 compression means the file sizes are incredibly small so I just record all channels at 25fps and maximum quality. File sizes depend on how much motion is being recorded so could be up to 10Gb per day per camera on a very busy outdoor scene but I have one indoor camera using less that 1Gb per day! Along with the continuous recording I also use the motion alarm facility to record extra short clips and jpeg still frames on motion triggers and these can be sent automatically to your e-mail address. You can scan through a whole days jpegs in a couple of minutes, making searching for events very quick and easy. The manuals mangled English can be a bit confusing but the system is pretty easy to use and well thought out. Highly recommended.

Reviews This is what a DVR should do - but very few can. Fantastic remote facilities - with audio. Can see and hear the wife shouting at the kids from the office!!.
