Fixed 3.6mm Lens

A fixed CCTV camera lens has a set viewing angle. This means the lens cannot be zoomed in or adjusted in any way. Our 3.6mm fixed lens gives you a wide angle of view. This is typically used internally, in offices, shop counters, porches etc. When used externally the camera offers a great view of the immediate surroundings and is quite subtle. Using this camera with this lens will give you a wide angle of view over the area you want to cover, if you want to cover more detail, you might want to consider using a varifocal as they are more practical for this type of work.

Varifocal 2.8-12mm Lens

Unlike a fixed lens, you are manually able to alter this lens; you are able to alter the zoom and focus of this lens. During installation you can zoom in or out to balance area covered with detail captured. We recommend changing the zoom and focus of the lens, once the camera had been fully installed and is connected to your DVR. Our 2.8-12mm varifocal lens can give you a wide angle of view or when zoomed in, can give you a narrow angle of view. The more you zoom in the better the detail, the more you zoom out the less the detail but the wider the area covered. For example, you are able to cover a large open area i.e. your driveway, large garden, bar area or you are able to zoom this camera in for a narrow detailed image, i.e. around your drive way, around the till, your gate etc.

Motorised 2.8-12mm Lens

In this range of CCTV, we have a ball dome and bullet which both have a motorised lens, this means you are able to change the zoom of this camera from your recorder and the camera will automatically change the focus. Because it’s motorised it means that you don’t have to change the zoom of the camera manually at the camera itself, this can save you a lot of time and effort. The lens on this camera are the same as the lens on the normal manual varifocal cameras. Our 2.8-12mm varifocal lens can give you a wide angle of view or when zoomed in, can give you a narrow angle of view. The more you zoom in, the better the detail, the more you zoom out, the less the detail but the wider the area covered. These cameras are great to be used outside around an area you may want more detail on. For example, you might place this camera to look over your drive/front lawn but one night you have a van full of tools on the drive that you want to zoom in on and have a detailed image.

Varifocal 6-22mm Lens

Another varifocal CCTV lens we do is a 6-22mm. We only have this lens in a bullet style camera as the lens is designed for long distances. Our 6-22mm varifocal lens can give you a wide angle of view or when zoomed in, can give you a narrow angle of view. Compared to the rest of our cameras this camera will give you amazing detail at 50+ metres away as it has a larger lens. With this type of camera is ideally used for when you’re wanting to cover a distance from far away, for example, a long driveway, an entrance way, stables at the bottom of a field etc.
