What is ONVIF?
ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a global and open industry forum with the goal of facilitating the development and use of a global open standard for interface for all IP-based security products. ONVIF was created to make a standard way of how IP products within CCTV and other security areas can communicate with each other.
Benefits of ONVIF compatible products:
- Flexibility – means you do not have to buy all your IP equpiment from one supplier, you can buy any equpiment from anywhere, as long as it's all ONVIF
- Future-proof – as ONVIF is standard on most IP products on the market, it means you can buy more or upgrade your system and majority of cameras and NVRs will work together
- Quality – when a product conforms to a standard, the market knows what to expect from that product.
This means that if you buy an IP Ultra HD camera from us to add to an existing NVR, as long as your NVR is ONVIF compatible our camera will work on our existing NVR. The same applies for our IP Ultra HD NVR’s , if you are buying an NVR from us to replace one on an existing system, as long as the cameras you already have are ONVIF compatible they will work no problem at all.
Majority of all IP-based CCTV since 2010 are ONVIF compatible as standard, but please be aware to check specification before purchasing anything to add to an existing system.

Our cameras and NVRs in both TYT Ultra HD IP & Black Box Ultra HD IP are all ONVIF compatiable.
